Read these six YouTube practices to staple into your brain the lessons you learned from Lurn’s YouTube tip sheet last week.
We at Lurn have used video marketing intensively over the past few years to build our company. Using video marketing, we have strengthened our partnerships, taught our students better, and attracted many customers.
You can now do the same by following these simple steps.
You will quickly develop your video marketing skill set by marketing on YouTube correctly. Then you may soon witness your profits and partnerships growing in ways you never expected.
Use the following practices to produce videos that will grow your following and your sales:
1. Track it.
Try out TubeMogul to publish your videos to several video directories for free as well as track links. As affiliate marketers, we track everything, so even if posting to video directories doesn’t take much of your time, this video submission service can help you track traffic.2. Respond to questions on your post.
That’s what a real person does, at least for a while after posting a video. People who just post videos and don’t monitor and respond to comments are demonstrating to readers that they don’t have time for them or don’t care about the topic enough to participate in dialogue.3. Be a giver.
A desire to provide value to your viewers should be the cornerstone of all of your marketing efforts. It’s particularly important in video marketing. That positive intent expresses itself in many ways, and visitors know quickly whether you are trying to help them or just trying to manipulate them.4. Embed your videos on your website.
Videos are content, and you want as much content as possible on your site (usually). Videos hold visitors’ attention, which helps reduce your bounce rate and helps you get your full message across. Videos also help your site conversions, because in addition to words, you can communicate your message with narration, action, sound effects, graphics, and pictures.5. Master the art of headline writing.
When viewers are skimming the videos, make sure yours stands out. Need a quick way to learn? Visit the magazine aisle and observe the style of cover headlines. That’s your clue to grabbing attention.6. Pick the preview shot strategically.
In addition to the headline, viewers usually only have the single preview shot to make a decision to watch the video. Make that preview shot count by selecting a frame that triggers curiosity and reinforces the topic mentioned in the title.
Now go create an account on YouTube right now and post a video.
If you have any more video marketing strategies that others can benefit from, please post it in a comment below!

Great tips!
A tip: put your website in the description of the video, which shows to the right in Youtube, next to your photo/avatar. That way people can click easily and find your other stuff too.
Keep going!

Don’t forget to put a live hyperlink back to your site, Facebook Fan page or Twitter link. Just go into your video description box and type http://YourSite.com and then a space. The write your description.

Great tip, I will definitely use the information. TubeMogul is a great way to go to get more exposure for all of your videos.
Good tips indeed. Not sure if you shared this one already, but another tip is this: you can add a note to your video. This means you can have you url display at the bottom or top of your video the whole the thing is playing. Also, you can having one note saying something like “get more info here =>>” and put that note in place where the “arrow” points at the url that you must have started your description with :0)
Good luck!

Hi Guys, great post, use of video to promote businesses online is an underused tool, it can be so effective but key is always creating a link back to your website/blog as more linkbacks can impact on your search enguine rankings.

best wishes
Aly

Hi, i like the tip about tubemogul, can i pingoat to those video directories,or do i manualy add. Thanks for the tips re:hyperlinks to websites.
Thanks for the article. It was a great help. I have been marketing for a while and I picked up a couple of things I didn’t know before. Thanks for increasing my marketing IQ.
Deffinately important stuff.
Although I recently uploaded a video to youtube and they suspended the account for some reason. I got the feeling that they didn’t like youtube being used for marketing purposes. Has anyone else gotten this vibe before?
Also I noticed that now if you put a link in the info section in youtube it is not clickable anymore unlike in the past.
That is truly revolutionary information… thanks for the great tips!!!
Hey Guys,
Thanks very much for the push to “get if done”. I have been putting off making those additional videos to direct traffic to my website http://www.greatworkplan.com/jw, but fearful and slothful to be truthful, to get it done. Now that I have the knowledge of how & where to post my videos “on tubemogul, I will do so. By the way another source of great tips to get more traffic is Daegan Smith.
In addition, I appreciate your willingness to give us free valuable information for NEWBIES like myself, Destined to Make it Big in NewworkMarketing.

Great tips and easy to implement. Sometimes the obvious needs to be pointed out as it’s very easy to over complicate effective ideas by being too smart.
Thanks

Awsome post as always.
I can confirm the value of video to increase exposure.
I posted my first video about a month ago and my traffic has increased dramatically.
I only posted to youtube and metacafe but now find it on other video sites. My video has also made it onto the first page of google for some good keywords.
I have also noticed through tracking that a lot of hits have been coming from these sites so definately due to video.
Keep up the great work and thanks for helping the little guy!
