The most important thing to know about link juice and authority sites is what they are:
Link Juice: The power of the page your backlink is from. The more weight, higher the quality, or higher PageRank of the page linking to you, the more ‘juice’ or power/weight is transferred to your page and site.
Authority Site: A website that is seen as trustworthy and influential by search engines, usually by the public as well.
Now here’s how the two relate to you:
While link juice issues make up a small percentage of backlink problems, authority site links create more trouble. But considering both involve the quality of the site responsible for your backlink; we thought we’d link the two together. Especially as authority sites often have considerable link juice, so a backlink from one could solve both problems.
Go to the Authorities
So as you search for more sites to request backlinks from, you want to make sure some of those sites are juiced up and authority sites.
You probably already know of the authority sites in your niche, but if you don’t, they’re easy to find. Just query the top keywords in your niche on Google or Bing and the lead site, the one that keeps popping up highest in the search results, is usually an authority site.
This is also a good way to find the sites in your niche with the most link juice. So make a note of the sites that rank highest in the search results, because those are the sites you want linking to your site.
Make your case
Now it can seem intimidating to try and link to an authority site. Authority sites are the go-to sites in your niche, and sometimes their influence spills over into the wider World Wide Web.
Most authority sites are constantly uploading fresh content; it’s one of the elements that makes them an authority. So offering to provide content can be a good way to get on the webmaster’s radar.
When you reach out to the authority site’s webmaster you will need to make a compelling case as to why the site should link to yours.
Make sure everything is spelled correctly, and the email sounds professional! A poorly written email could get you rejected before you’ve had a chance to perform.
Make sure your site is tight before you request a backlink. Your content needs to be clean and your links need to work. After all, you are inviting someone you want to do business with to check out your site, so you want to make sure you are ready to impress them.
You also need to be sure you know the authority site really well. If you are offering to provide content, suggest where it could be used. Does the site rely on article marketing? Facebook or Twitter? Try and come up with a unique way you can help them out. That way, it can seem like a backlink from the site will be the least they could do.
Don’t Give Up
And remember, if at first you don’t succeed, try, try, again. While you shouldn’t email the webmaster on a weekly basis asking why he wouldn’t give you a link, if you don’t get a backlink, asking why (politely and professionally of course) is a good idea.
If they suggest any changes, and you decide to make those adjustments to your site, you can let them know when your site is revamped. You can also reach out again after you’ve added a section, launched a new product, and published a new series of reviews or started an email newsletter.
Just make sure your diligence doesn’t get mistaken for irritation, so keep any repeat requests to a few times a year, rather than a few times a month. Being persistent, but professional, is a good way to show commitment and dedication.
Now go get juiced up!

This is the first article I’ve read since finding this site, and what an article! I’m hooked. That was awesome! Probably one of the more interesting reads in awhile.
Great article, thank you, really big thanks.
thanks a lot for the information….
nice to visit your blog…
Hello, I just read your post and I will be posting your post at my blog for my reader at http://www.rossjoyner.com
Thanks again for your post!
Great information, thanks!
great work, I hope all works well. Thanks! Tony G.
Your article is important because of the detailed methods you’ve outlined. It’s also a good reminder for myself to continually do this.
I landed a consulting client because of a casual backlink that I hadn’t given much thought about. To date, that client has created thousands in income for us.

Very realistic points you made there, it all comes down to the doing the ground work first.
Great article and advice! Thanks.
Nice post! Key issues that are really important being professional and showing commitment! Look forward to more posts.
Absolutely!
It isn’t really that hard to do either. Find forums, post useful comments, find posts, contribute to the conversation (like this post here:)). Even though the authority site may not give your link ‘juice’, it still is a link and still contributes to overall ranking and often even some direct traffic.
As well as finding opportunities to link to your site from an authority site, it is also of value for you to link to authority sites from your own posts/pages. This adds value to your content and is ‘counted’ when ranking your pages (the more related the authority site the better). Examples of authority sites are Wiki style sites, developer sites (Wordpress) and pretty much any high ranking related site.
Nice Post!

Anik, can you send a list of steps to take today?
also, when you say the site needs to be “tight” ……how can we tighten from the IMADE500?
Thanks!
Hi Anik,
I agree with you. However, how would the authority site with high PR have interest to link with a low PR site? Is there any tips you can share with us to persuade the authority site to link with a PR1 web site?
Cheers,
Ming Jong
Thank you for opening my eyes, day after day. I wish you all the best.
Good stuff
That’s really good advice, many thanks for the suggestions, my newsletter will hopefully get more subscribers with these tactics.
Great post guys, I really like the part about not giving up if you get turned down.
I am in the network marketing industry and what most other network marketers fail to understand is we are in an industry of failure. An industry where the most persistent come out on top.
Good stuff, thanks!
I started learning about backlinks last month, everyday, I tried to get one. And finally I got a backlink.
Now I have new information about backlinks.
Thanks
Thanks for the information.

Great Article. For me this a new great information. though I am not familiar with some terms, back link, what is it, I have no idea but not sure. could you explain,
Thanks again, for such good information.
Teresa
I will bring this info with me. Thank you.
Hi Anik,
thank you for the info.!! This is an area I need to learn/do more in so it is much appreciated!
Have a great day,
Nancy
Great info. Thanks for the encouragement, too.
I absolutely agree that polite persistence usually pays off in the end, as long as you make your site attractive to the authority site. Real authority sites usually don’t have a problem linking to other quality sites in the niche, because it boosts the perception of their authority!
Thanks for the information.
As usual another great post. What resonates with me the most is Don’t Give Up! I teach people how start profitable home based medical billing businesses which is a daunting task for someone with on experience or guidance.
The first thing I do with my students is retrain their minds with the motto “Don’t Give Up Before The Magic Happens” because your mindset plays a direct role in our accomplishments and failures.
Today I still get hundreds of emails from present and past students thanking me for getting them to the points in their lives that they had been dreaming about and how they would not have made it if I didn’t teach them Not To Give Up (especially in the face of objection and adversities).

When submitting content to Authority Sites pay attention to the terms and conditions. Many times they require exclusive use of that content so you can’t submit it to article directories and you can’t publish it on your own site or blog.
This is it! Just read the article and found it in line with what the todays internet marketers needs. I am getting on it right away! Thanks a bunch.
A few more steps on the road to backlink goal at the top of google
We’re building links
Thanks for the great tips, I have recently been gathering information and going after backlinks so I can get indexed with a higher page rank. The insight that you put out is a cut above the rest. KEEP ROCKIN!
Good information. Thank you.
We’re really liking the new blog posts. They are so helpful. I really like the advice on making sure that you really check out how authority sites work before any contact. A good way to find authority sites is using Alexa and Compete.
This is a good article but you are talking about one way links here aren’t you?
Authority backlinks with high page rank pages are important and it is worth searching out services that sell link packets which is quicker than asking individual webmasters if they will swap links,
Just be careful not to spam the link paket sites with links for multiple sites if you have them.
Useful article – thanks
Great info on getting authority site backlinks!
I like this approach, which shows clearly the steps to follow and the determination of a businessman, who is supposed to not give up even when he faces adversity. Great.
Thx for the valueable information. Ill keep in mind next time.
I am just getting started with my blog and find your advice so valuable. I was not able to commit to your recent offering of building a site for $ 30+ per month because I was out of the area and could not commit to the time, but I hope you offer the hands on training again soon. I have to the time to commit and would appreciate the hands on coaching.
Again, Thank You!!!
Busily tidying up my sites as per your advise… interesting article as I am learning as many SEO techniques to share with my clients, to improve their rankings etc
Looking forward to more on this subject
Ian
Yes it is all about the backlinks. I have never done as you suggested and actually emailed people and asked for a link. So simple but overlooked.
Thanks
hmmm…sounds advanced. I’m just starting out.
Hi Anik,
After 2 yrs. of posting articles on my blog (about alternative health)
I was ready to throw in the towel. That was until I read an article about
the importance of titles.
Well, I wrote a post and included one very popular female celebrity
in the title. Long-story short, my page rankings went up considerably.
So, that’s my piece of advice: “Tighten up your titles for better
page rankings.”
Thanks Anik,
And keep the helpful info coming.
Very good information and advice. You always add value by providing good content. Thank you for everything. Bere’
Thank you for wonderful insights.
Thank you so much for the information. It’s very helpful.
Hey Anik,
Thanks for sharing this great information. I just put up a few new sites and I am looking over the authorities in those niches. The tips you provide about approaching them for a link is really simple. I will be implementing it shortly. Back linking can be so tricky, it s almost its own market! I read so much on getting back links but this one about linking to the authority site is valuable. I also like how you say to ask for a reason why if they do not link. Its helpful to get feedback from the “experts” in your niche and make the necessary changes. I will let you know how it goes! Thanks again.
I am a frequent visitor to your blog and I am sure I will be back soon.
Honestly, I always considered this a waste of time. But I scheduled in 3 hours this month to try this month to see if I can make it work. So thanks
I love it. This articles gives great information yet it is very simple. It is put in a way the layman can understand. Thank you for writing such a great article. I will try these methods in finding backlinks to all 3 of my sites. Thanks again.
