Framing Topics
As an affiliate marketer, you probably write a lot of articles. Or you should be. Article marketing is a great way to build backlinks. The one-way links from authority sites like ArticlesBase.com, or EzineArticles are endorsements of your site.
Writing the articles might take time, but coming up with the topics can be the real challenge.
What you need to do is sit down and make a list. Start with the products or services you advertise. Then add your keywords. Now you have a list of what you should incorporate into your articles.
Now you need to figure out how to frame those ideas.
How-to articles are easy to write and very popular. Even if it seems that there’s no immediate how-to for your product, chances are there is. It just depends on how you approach it.
For example, if your product is recipe book, you could write a how-to on selecting a recipe for a family dinner, or an article on how to put together a seasonal picnic lunch where you incorporate a few ideas from the product itself.
Besides the how-to, there are other stock article types that can help you generate topical articles:
• Q&A
• Avoid a problem
• Do’s and Don’ts
• Hot Trends
• Cheap, Easy and Fast
Some products will fit immediately and obviously with these frames. But really, any product or service can be described by the above.
Hot Trends might seem like it only applies to a cutting edge technology, but this is where a little research can go a long way. Incorporating the latest buzz in your niche or in the general news can make your product or service seem totally trendy. Using Google alerts and RSS feeds to stay up-to-date on the latest in your niche or in the news can help inspire you.
For example, if you’re selling a fitness product, use the latest action movie star to illustrate how your readers (and potential customers) could look.
You can also flip it, and go with why the product is a great classic. Something along the lines of ‘trends may come and go, but the service stays true’ would work fine.
With your list of products or services, keywords and the framing types suggested here, there are endless amounts of combinations you can make. A fresh approach can generate tons of article ideas.
