Building Your Affiliate Marketing Opt-In List, Part Three

This is the third of our five-part “Building Your Affiliate Marketing Opt-In List” If you missed either, you can read part one here and read part two here.

The value of your opt-in list to you as an affiliate marketer can’t be overestimated. Your opt-in list contains the names and email addresses of the people who have already expressed an interest in your niche so they’re “pre-screened”.

They’re the people who are most likely to buy what you are selling!

So far in the five part, “Building Your Affiliate Marketing Opt-In List” series you’ve found out what you need to know about choosing an autoresponder service and the criteria for choosing an opt-in incentive. Now you can put an opt-in box on your website but if nobody visits your website, you won’t get any subscribers.

You need website visitors so here are…………

3 Ways to Drive Traffic to Your Opt-In Form

There are lots and lots of ways marketers use to draw visitors to their websites. Some of these methods are free, some are not. But your objective for all of them is to cause Google (and other search engines) to list your website in a users search results for specific keywords and thus give users the opportunity to click the link, come to your website, see your opt-in form and opt-in to your list.

Traffic Driving Tactic #1: Research Your Keywords and Use them to Optimize Your Website! Out here on the world wide web there are no road maps or street signs. The way that people find the information, products and services they want is by typing words that describe what they’re looking for (KEYWORDS) into the search box of search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing.

You must do your keyword research to find the words and phrases that users will type into search boxes. Then you must use the keywords you want to target to optimize your web pages for the search engines. It’s called SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Keyword research and SEO are broad subjects that are far too involved to discuss here but you need to find out about and understand the principles of both. If you are an Affiliate Classroom student, you’ll want to check out our courses on Keyword Research and SEO.

Traffic Driving Tactic #2: Provide Timely and Valuable Content on Your Website! Publishing good and original content that contains the keywords you’re targeting on your website does two things:

1. It attracts search engine spiders and can boost your search ranking. .
2. It helps convince your website visitors to opt-in to your list.

Traffic Driving Tactic #3: Link to Websites that Rate High in Google (and other search engines) Search Results. One measure that Google and the other search engines use to determine the position of your website in search results is the number of links that you have on your site to and from other websites.

Link building is another topic that is far too involved to discuss in depth here. But, it’s a tactic that you need to understand and put into action.

In short, you need to get links to your site from other sites. Sound easy enough? Well, don’t forget that those links need to be relevant – sites within your niche. And, they have to be from quality sites. Again, if you’re an Affiliate Classroom member, we’ve got courses on link building that will help you execute an effective link-building strategy.

Tomorrow, in part four of the “Building Your Affiliate Marketing Opt-In List” series, you’ll find three more tactics you can use to attract visitors to your opt-in box.
