As an affiliate who promotes products to a list via email, it’s possible you are overlooking or at least under-utilizing a major asset: your blog.
It’s likely you put a great deal of time, effort, thought, and even money into building the list you market to. It’s also likely that you spend a great deal of all the above to generate email content. Your blog may be a secret weapon that can use to both increase opt-ins AND generate email content – for FREE!
You have blog readers who are not on your opt-in list, and you have members of your opt-in list who do not read your blog.
The idea here is to integrate your blog and your opt-in list. You want to use your blog and your existing email list to aid and grow one another.
Here are three blog/opt-in integration ideas:
1. Promote email subscriptions on blog pages: Between search indexing and the power of social media, it’s very likely that many of your potential first-time customers are landing on your blog and on a specific blog post, rather than on your home page or on your sales pages.
They visit because of a single blog post, but even if they like what they read, they won’t necessarily explore other pages on your site. You need a method in place to capture email addresses on every single page of your blog – a subscription box to your newsletter or a “free” opt-in incentive.
2. Offer an email subscription to your blog posts to your opt-in list: RSS syndication is the standard, of course, but it isn’t the only option.
It’s been estimated that only between 10% and 20% of users opt for RSS feed. Some feed management systems, like Feedblitz and Google’s Feedburner, allow subscribers to receive updates by email.
3. Repurpose your blog content for email newsletters: Use a specific section of your newsletter as a “blog corner.” In this corner, highlight the newest or most popular article on your blog.
Include a link to a video blog post. People LOVE video! In one test, adding a link to a video blog post increased the CTR (click-through rate) by more than 136 percent – that’s some increase!
Use your blog to build your opt-in list, and use your opt-in list to increase your blog readership. They’re both valuable assets, and when used together, each is made stronger.

i read this site it is good
Thank you for valuable information. The best!
good point.
But, How are we going to integrate Tweeter into email marketing?
This is a great post. I will start using this technique asap.
Thanks for sharing,
Dave
There is indeed a strong synergy between email and blogs that is grossly underused.
A quick way to integrate blog and list is to use Aweber’s weekly blog compilation service that emails headlines and teasers of the week’s posts from your blog to your list.
Helpppppppppppp me to get started. I have no website.
I’ve been following a lot of Anik’s advice for several months now as I’ve been developing and growing my own dating site (a niche market with LOTS of competition). Many of the tactics that apply to affiliate marketing are just as good for those of us with membership-based sites. I’m DEFINITELY going to utilize more cross-promotion between email and blog (and video blogging). Of course, I promote my site on my blog, but I realize now that I haven’t done nearly enough!
Thanks for the tip!

Hi,
I have been writing articles and other information for my sites for quite a while, but I’m not big on writing blogs. One of my mentors has been showing me the power of blogs and your words here just provides more power to her words. I am going to start incorperating blogs into my every day work plans. Thank you for hitting me with this growing experience.
Thanks again,
John
How can I add rss feed to my web oages so that my pages can be spidered
I havn’t got into Blogging, but it does nothing for me. I prefer email. Several members of the family use Facebook. I have difficulty getting on line, unless I piggyback a posting. Agin I favor email. Anik you do good and I admire you I will go into this faether at a later date.
Good Luck
Beverly
Interesting post!
I’ve noticed that many of the mails I get from other marketers are using the email to promote the blog posts and I think this is good, since I normally unsubscribe from those who only send promotion emails without any real content.
Your advice is valuable not only to help grow the list and promote the blog, but also to build credibility among subscribers.
Thanks for your tips.
It’s nice to have a regular subscriber. If you have a lots of fans it will also contribute to your traffic and list building. A quality and informative content will help to achieve your goals.
as a newbie, I will try this suggestion, I thought all along that if we sell something directly from the email then we would fail?
I am just starting to make my first web site and there is so much to learn that it is almost overwhelming.I will keep this for a future date when my site is made and running.
