As an affiliate marketer, you already know the importance of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). You know that when you apply proven on-page and off-page SEO techniques, you drive FREE but qualified traffic to your website. Free qualified traffic is an affiliate marketer’s dream come true.
Successful SEO, though, never occurs by accident or because of “dumb luck.”
Successful SEO is the result of laying a solid SEO foundation and then building a solid SEO structure on it.
The foundation of your SEO house is made up of 4 SEO cornerstones:
Excellent Keyword Research
SEO starts and ends with keywords. Your potential customers will type certain keywords into search engine search boxes when they are looking for products like the ones you sell.
If you haven’t targeted the keywords your potential customers are typing into search boxes, they will find the marketers that did use them and those marketers will make sales. You won’t.
There’s no way to overemphasize the importance of good, solid keyword research.
A Mixture of Patience and Persistence
One of the primary reasons that SEO fails is because marketers fail to lay a solid foundation of persistence and patience.
The Internet moves at the speed of light (maybe faster) but SEO progress moves at a snail’s pace (maybe slower).
The age of your site is one of the primary factors Google and other search engine’s use to determine placement of it in natural search results. You can’t make your site age faster.
It takes a long time to build up enough links to your website to convince the search engines that it’s worthy of a higher placement in search results.
Persistence and patience must be constants!
Rock Solid Attention to Detail
In SEO, every single facet of your on-page and off-page SEO parts matter. That includes the parts you see and the parts you don’t.
- Every article you submit to article directories matter.
Every incoming and outgoing link matters.
Meta tags matter.
The quality, quantity, and variety of links matter.
And so much more…
Use the obvious SEO techniques, but don’t overlook the details. The devil is always in the details!
Content, Content, and More Content
Content really isn’t king, you know. RELEVANT, HIGH-QUALITY content is king! Anybody can post “content.” Posting relevant, high-quality content is a bit more difficult.
It’s also the only kind of content that will have any positive impact on the placement of your site in search results.
Add relevant, high quality content to your site on a regular basis.
These four SEO cornerstones will provide the solid foundation you need on which to build your SEO house … or mansion!
