Getting Indexed

Heck, what’s the point of doing ANY SEO if you can’t even get Google to crawl your site?
Should you submit on Google’s add URL page? Should you buy some Adwords PPC? Should you try blogging and pinging or using RSS? Should you try to buy some incoming links?
Presuming you’ve checked your code, and there’s nothing to prevent spiders from finding it or crawling it – in other words, it’s simple, straight HTML, the next step is to make sure the internal navigation of your website is all properly connected with a site map.
First, make sure the site map links to every page within your website. Next – and yes, this is going to take some effort – be sure that every single on of your pages links back to your site map. Do not use any “clutter,” only straight HTML links. That means NO javascript menus on either your site navigation or on your site map page.
Second, once you have a solid internal navigation structure, the Googlebot will now be able to crawl each page easily. So now all you have to do is place a link on your main home page. When the Googlebot visits your site, your entire site will get crawled.
Third, I don’t think there’s any point in doing manual submissions. Google likes to find new websites that are linked from existing websites. Concentrate on creating more ways for the “internet highway” to connect to your site.
Getting a low PR link from a related site (even one of your own) will bring the Googlebot to you, rather than you trying to beg or force it to visit your site.

Do you know how to get traffic to your site?
Well, you probably know that in order to keep a steady stream of traffic coming in, you have to work for it. And to work for that traffic, you need to know what makes it tick. The March issue of Affiliate Classroom magazine is here to help you with this important process.
Before you can put together a successful affiliate offer, you need to understand your niche market. This includes an understanding of the demographics of your customer base, and how best to apply this information in preparing your offers and content. With the article “Niche Markets and Targeted Traffic,” you’ll learn how to turn the demographics of your web visitors into targeted traffic.
Linking is also an important aspect for traffic generation and you’ll need to get as many links to your website as possible – but they can’t be links from just anywhere. Many factors, from Google guidelines to protecting your brand, need to be considered, and “Big Do’s (and Little Don’ts) of Affiliate Links” covers these in detail.
And if you’re not sure what a demographic is, “Getting to Know Your Traffic” is here to help. You’ll also learn the advantages of traffic logs and demographic research tools in determining what kinds of people visit your website and what they do while they’re there.
Best of all, there’s no cost involved in obtaining this important information about understanding your web traffic. Download your copy of Affiliate Classroom magazine today by clicking here (no email address required)
