Affiliate Marketing Articles that Pre-Sell

An affiliate marketing sale is actually the result of providing information!

I’ll bet you thought that making a sale was the direct result of effective advertising, didn’t you? I don’t think it is.

Advertising is important, of course. Advertising will get internet users to your website so you have the opportunity to make a sale but the sale actually results from the information you provide about how a product or service will help the user solve a problem.

People do occasionally go on the internet looking for products or services to buy, but most often people go on the internet to find information: information about a problem that they have or a skill that they want to learn; information about being prettier, smarter or healthier.

It’s true! Usually people use the internet with the PURPOSE of finding information that they need or want about a particular subject and not in pursuit of a particular product or service. That is why providing information in articles is one of the best ways to actually make affiliate marketing sales.

Articles written with the objective of pre-selling products and services should, of course, be well-written and follow all of the unwritten rules of good article writing. Keywords should be used in the title, in the first sentence and a couple of times in every paragraph of an article.  Just make sure the article reads like information.  The keywords should not be noticeable to the reader.

Articles can be posted on an affiliate marketer’s own website and used in newsletters and emails that are sent to an opt-in list. A re-written version of the article can be submitted to article banks for other webmasters and ezine publishers to reprint as long as links in the article and the resource box at the bottom of the article aren’t changed.

Articles that pre-sell products and services should contain affiliate links to the products and services that the affiliate marketer represents - but in a conversational and information-imparting manner rather than in an advertising manner.

When good information is provided, sales are the result!

This is a good article directed towards all affiliates, and contains good advise. I would add that short articles are more effective than long ones, especially where product recommendations are concerned. I try to combine good short one or two paragraph recommendations to small graphic product displays. Using the advise above, keywords in the right places, this type of presentation also works as it will index in search if placed on the right 3rd party site. I also build this type of presentation on my site, but I do it within a niche and a product display site will contain several good recommendations with small graphics of the product featured.

This article concept works well with herbal remedy products and then the placement of links is important. I use a link or 2 within the content of the article, and at the bottom of the article under the name of the product and “more information”, or whatever seems to be most effective.

Great article and to the point!
