Videos, Videos and MORE Videos!

Ok…common sense right? More people want to watch videos rather than read some report? The first phenomenon was AUDIO - everyone was all “goo-goo-gaa-gaa” for audios. Now that that has become common place, everyone is targeting videos now.

I knew it all along, but finally decided to do a test.

On a recent promotion to one of my lists, here are the results I saw:

Week 1 - Promo for a “pdf report” - 2,356 clicks
Week 2 - Promo for a “video” - 3,870 clicks

That’s 64% more clicks! To the same list basically on the same topic.

So, affiliates, I don’t know where, but find some videos to put on your site!

Hi Anik

Although I’m a great reader myself, I can see why videos will become more popular.

Recently I have been putting together an audio-visual promotion for an Online Networking website. This shows the web pages actually being clicked through, with a voice-over commentary.

I’m sure this will be more effective to encourage people to try the site rather than giving them a pdf file to be viewed on-screen or printed out. Apart from anything else, it is much more believable to see an actual demonstration rather than be simply told that something happens.

Although the promotion takes up 500 Mb (why it is on CD) there is no reason a cut-down version can’t be made which is directly accessible from the web site in a downloadable format.

I suggest that many more affiliate sales people consider this form of education and promotion in order to encourage potential buyers.

I know the company that will launch the killer app in online video affiliate networks. Its launching in a matter of weeks and it will kill all that is out there. Stay tuned.

All this seems a bit over my head. I understand the concept, however, I would not know where to begin. I’m just a beginner and as green as Kermit the frog. (smile)
I’m still trying to get a webpage up. Baby steps you know!

The only thing with that is I wonder would that slow up some people’s computers, and they get frustrated and leave the site.

Man, oh, man! Yeah, baby, video is where it’s going!!
Lemme tell ya, if I got an email from someone and opened it to find a really short vid of someone’s smiling face talking to me, saying something like, “Hi, my name’s Paul. Click on the link below to see my really outrageous ideas that let you make HUGE amounts of MONEY!” do you think I’d click on the link? You betcha I would! Of course, just like Annette, I’m a newbie still trying to get the first website up and running, so if anyone could keep us newbies up-to-date about how to include video in our sites, you know, what to do, how to do it, it’d be cool. Yeah, I know. I’m asking for a lot. But if someone could sell a complete step-by-step how-to ebook about putting videos on our sites, or better yet a how-to video, I’d be among the first to buy it! Even at $67 or more, as long as it’s not just fluff but actual content. So, who’s up to the challenge?! C’mon, people! Don’t leave us in the dark! Enquiring minds want to know!!
