Podcast SEO: New Tricks For New Channel

Out of the Search Engine Strategies conference in Chicago last December emerged a special report containing Podcasting SEO tips.
As you saw a couple of days ago here, podcasting is still small but growing rapidly.
We predict that - along with Social Networks - it’s going to be a large channel for affiliate marketers.
People like watching video and listening to audio, especially the younger (ages 18-29) demographic. As the technology matures to scan the moving images (Video podcasts, or vidcasts) and generate searchable product items, monetization is going to get easier and easier.
Similar technology is now available to scan audio podcasts and index their contents for search engine results pages. If it can do that, it can generate ads based on what it ‘hears’. Can you spell GooglePod?
In case you missed it, our September 2005 issue contained an article explaining what podcasts are and how you can easily find or even create them. With the advent of search engine technology specifcially geared toward ‘listening’ and indexing online audio content, now is a good time for affliate marketers to learn about this new development.
Currently only a small percentage of the online audience is listening, but that will change rapidly in the next two years. And, as always, those intrepid entrepeneurs who seek out and enter new markets early will reap the greatest rewards. Though they sometimes stumble, those pioneers gain valuable experience ahead of the crowd.
That hard-won knowledge can soon be put to good use as you become expert in generating income from this new source. Now that search engine technology has arrived to help users find it, the time has come to learn the SEO tricks that will lead them to you.
