Great Internet Marketing Seminar - Maybe the Best…

Last year I attended an event run by Yanik Silver called the Underground Online Seminar and it was by far one of the best I had ever been to.

Yanik was able to get speakers who we are not used to hearing - the “real” guys who are doing it and not just talking about it.

I learned from the likes of Jeff Johnson and even Rosalind Gardner spoke (the Affiliate Queen).

Well, this year (coming March), Yanik has thrown together an even bigger list of secret speakers…

* Agent eBay High Roller…
* Agent Content is King Kaching…
* Agent AdSense Young Gun…
* Agent Moonlighting Moneymaker…

* Agent eBook Hotshot…
* Agent Recurring Revenue Renegade…
* Agent Dealmaking Master…

* Agent Listbuilding Maestro
* Agent Recurring Revenue Renegade

I will personally be there - I’ve been registered for it since the end of the last event (a year ago).

Many of you have asked that I start keeping you up to date on the more important events and so here I am.

I’m not quick to endorse seminars (most of them are usually just a big sales pitch), but this one is different so I do recommend you read more about it.

Last I spoke with Yanik, he only had 79 seats left, so I immediately put together this e-mail. Plus, if you come, we can get some time to chat!

Affiliate Commissions to Hit $6.5 Billion in 2006

If you need, take a minute and rub your eyes and re-read that! $6.5 billion! Now is THAT an industry or what? Search is expected to hit abouit $14 Billion. So, the next time you hear someone tell you that affiliate marketing is dying, please laugh :D - it’s actually growing into a DOMINATING chunk on many company’s online marketing budget. This is all according to a report released by the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) last Monday.

So, you tell me - is this the right time to be involved in affiliate marketing?

Collecting From Merchants

We recently ran across a couple of references that might help you collect when a deadbeat merchant refuses to pay.

The first collection service was mentioned in one of Alan Gardyne’s recent newsletters: The Affiliate Collection Agency. The second is mentioned on the PartnerIndustry web site: Receivable Management Services, the collection provider for Dun & Bradstreet.

We haven’t tested them ourselves, but if you’re an affiliate who has used one of these services - or if you know of other agencies that will help affiliates collect back commissions - contact me at editor@affiliateclassroom.com.

You’ve Only Got 3 Seconds…

…to make a good impression on your site visitors. And woe to those sites that bombard prospects with too many links. At least that’s what a recent study by Questus seems to indicate, as reported in an article on one of my favorite sites, Clickz.com. During the past holiday season, shoppers were twice as likely to…

“…desire fewer links on each Web page than more. Twelve percent of respondents want fewer links; 4.47 percent thought it would be better to have more links.”

Sounds like something to keep in mind when selecting programs to promote. If your chosen merchant insists on presenting an alarming array of links, bells, whistles, and other tricked up site design that does nothing but distract visitors from making a purchase, you may not get the conversions you deserve.
