CJ Lets Merchants Contact Advertisers…
Posted by Anik Singal in Affiliate Marketing, Affiliate Programs Monday, 14 November 2005 10:29 No Comments
I was just browsing Shawn Collins’s blog and saw something really interesting. A few months ago I learned that CJ did not allow merchants to e-mail their affiliates? I found this really strange since contacting affiliates on a regular basis is such an important part of having active affiliates!
It seems that CJ has listened and changed their rules. So, if you’re an affiliate and you have a habit of signing up for every and any program in CJ, you better log-in and clean it out. Otherwise, you’re going to get bombarded with e-mail!

Is Your Head Going To Explode?

Alright, typically I find good articles, do a brief synopsis and then link you up. But, today I want to do things a bit differently – I want to talk about something I’m seeing becoming a HUGE problem for any/all internet entrepreneurs (myself included).
You see, its a little past 12 AM here and I just got done stressing out (don’t worry I figured out the problem, resolved it and am moving on). But, before I crash for the night I wanted to pass on this “piece of wisdom” to you.
Let’s say you go out and buy a McDonald’s franchise tomorrow, you invest $1.5 million (or whatever huge sum it costs) and it opens up. Are you going to turn around the next day and say, “Hey, I think I’ll buy a Wendy’s now too…”
Absolutely not! At least not until that McDonalds is running smoothly and you have free time to invest into another business.
Well, then tell me this – why in the world do we not follow the same principle on the internet? Why is it that since it’s so “easy” to start a website, we go nuts trying to start 5 projects at a time.
What happens? We never get even ONE done – don’t make any money – get stressed out – lose hope and get depressed! I’m not kidding…if I could get a dime for every student I see going through this…
Who am I kidding? “I” go through this even though I teach people not to. I JUST got done shedding off multiple projects, I never even knew when I just started adding all of them! Today, I realized myself getting stressed, disorganized, confused and frustrated. Immediately I knew it was because I was spreading myself too thin.
Take my advice on this please – work on ONE thing at a time. Get it to the point that you are happy with and then re-invest your free time to a new project. Don’t work on multiple projects at the same time…
Well that’s my 2 cents for the day.

Proof That Google is WATCHING You!

Now Google has themselves PROVEN that they are watching you, learning from you, getting to know YOU better than maybe even you know yourself! Recently, Google has filed for a patent that has them ranking search results based on “user profiles” – meaning they will know what “you” like and base their results on that:
“Such profiles are created by Google and gathered from previous queries, web navigation behavior via tracked links and possibly sites visited which serve Google ads, computers with Google Applications installed such as Desktop Search, Google Wi-fi Connection or Sidebar, and personal information which Google identifies which may be implicitly or explicitly provided by the user. (Quote from article in SearchEngineJournal – link at the end of the post).
As a brother to the “page rank” this new form of ranking may take the name of “profile rank.”
The article gets pretty detailed and technical – for more reading, have a look…
