In the magazine, you mention a new site not having 1,000 links in 30 days. Yet I just read a strategy from Stephen Maheney at Planet Ocean that could get you to 1,000 in about 6 weeks or so. It was in the Nov or Dec issue.
Don’t know how that would affect your rankings though.
I just used Brad Callen’s link metro.com to add about 15 to my site at one time all related to my site theme.
Then I may have to hold off for another two weeks on link building because of work and time constraints.
I am going to spend more time on this as I think that after the latest Google shakeup, those that don’t link will disappear from the index.
