This Thanksgiving, we at The Affiliate Classroom (myself especially) have a LOT to be thankful for. A little over a year ago, we launched The Affiliate Classroom and this has been an amazing year.
We want to take a special moment to thank all of our affiliates, all of our expert contributors and everyone who has supported us.
Instead of digging into the industry, we decided to take today off and just leave a note thanking every single one of you.
Have a great trukey day,

The last 14 days have been nothing but amazing. I have to (once again) thank all the wonderful affiliates of Affiliate Classroom who really came around and flexed their muscles!
Today is the last day of the competition and we're just busy calculating all the results so we can announce the multiple winners soon. For those of you wondering whether it was a success, I'll let you decide:
- 135% increase in sales
- 26% increase in # of affiliates in our system
- 5 new MAJOR promotional partners
Many of you have caught on to the "real reason" behind the competition and caught me (and e-mailed me about it). But some still don't know... ;)
There was a "behind the scenes" goal of this competition and I am very proud to announce that I think that goal was firmly met. In a few days, Affiliate Classroom is going to release a full case study that reveals what we did, how we did it and what our goal was...
Till then - start thinking about how you can implement 'competitions' into your own marketing plan.... Read More →

This is a question we get regularly at The Affiliate Classroom - "How do I get my website indexed into all the major search engines." Before I give you the simple and easy way to do that, I want to clear up some myths:
1. Submitting to search engine helps - It doesn't. I have tested this and I never saw it do a thing!
2. "Just wait..." - No way. If you don't actually do the right things, getting indexed is almost impossible now days.
3. Indexing in 3 days - On a brand new website? Good luck - Maybe the home page will get indexed. But a "deep crawl" for all your pages is not really possible in that short time anymore.
4. Blogging and Pinging - Ahhaaa my favorite. The latest craze (which is now dying). Let's set it straight when it comes to blogging and pinging.
Blogging and pinging will MOST DEFINITELY give your site some short term indexing in Yahoo and MSN (not really Google). However, if you stop blogging and pinging, you'll soon noticed that the engines (especially Yahoo) will fast remove your site. If you blog/ping too much, they will remove your sites, etc...
Personally, I am not a big fan of blo... Read More →

I was just browsing Shawn Collins's blog and saw something really interesting. A few months ago I learned that CJ did not allow merchants to e-mail their affiliates? I found this really strange since contacting affiliates on a regular basis is such an important part of having active affiliates!
It seems that CJ has listened and changed their rules. So, if you're an affiliate and you have a habit of signing up for every and any program in CJ, you better log-in and clean it out. Otherwise, you're going to get bombarded with e-mail!
You can read more at Shawn's blog...... Read More →

Alright, typically I find good articles, do a brief synopsis and then link you up. But, today I want to do things a bit differently - I want to talk about something I'm seeing becoming a HUGE problem for any/all internet entrepreneurs (myself included).
You see, its a little past 12 AM here and I just got done stressing out (don't worry I figured out the problem, resolved it and am moving on). But, before I crash for the night I wanted to pass on this "piece of wisdom" to you.
Let's say you go out and buy a McDonald's franchise tomorrow, you invest $1.5 million (or whatever huge sum it costs) and it opens up. Are you going to turn around the next day and say, "Hey, I think I'll buy a Wendy's now too..."
Absolutely not! At least not until that McDonalds is running smoothly and you have free time to invest into another business.
Well, then tell me this - why in the world do we not follow the same principle on the internet? Why is it that since it's so "easy" to start a website, we go nuts trying to start 5 projects at a time.
What happens? We never get even ONE done - don't make any money - get stressed out - lose hope and get depressed! I'm not kidding...if I could g... Read More →

Now Google has themselves PROVEN that they are watching you, learning from you, getting to know YOU better than maybe even you know yourself! Recently, Google has filed for a patent that has them ranking search results based on "user profiles" - meaning they will know what "you" like and base their results on that:
"Such profiles are created by Google and gathered from previous queries, web navigation behavior via tracked links and possibly sites visited which serve Google ads, computers with Google Applications installed such as Desktop Search, Google Wi-fi Connection or Sidebar, and personal information which Google identifies which may be implicitly or explicitly provided by the user. (Quote from article in SearchEngineJournal - link at the end of the post).
As a brother to the "page rank" this new form of ranking may take the name of "profile rank."
The article gets pretty detailed and technical - for more reading, have a look...... Read More →
